Dentrix retired the classic Dexis integrator
Henry Schein One moved all imaging integration to Smart Image. The old direct Dexis bridge is no longer supported.

Smart Image supports Dexis 9 & 10 — explicitly not Dexis 11
Dentrix’s own documentation states the Smart Image DEXIS connector works with Dexis 9 and 10 and is not compatible with Dexis 11. Practices on 11 lose integrated imaging.

The official path forward is migrating to DTX Studio Clinic — new software, new licensing, staff retraining, and a conversion project of its own. Downgrading to Dexis 10 is quoted as a paid project, if it happens at all.

Your X-rays are irreplaceable legal records. Every design decision in our process starts from that fact.
Your Dexis 11 is never touched
The conversion reads from a snapshot of your database and reads your image files read-only. The original system stays running and intact — it is the rollback plan. If anything were ever wrong, reverting means simply pointing workstations back.
Every image is verified, not assumed
Each converted image is written with the same internal integrity hash Dexis 10 itself uses, then reconciled three ways: source database, new database, and the files on disk must match exactly — to the image. Anything less than exact is a no-go.
Interruption-proof by design
Each patient converts in a single all-or-nothing transaction. A failure rolls that patient back completely and the run continues; re-running picks up exactly where it left off. There is no state where a patient is half-migrated.
